Well okay, maybe not killed, but it damn sure drained me to the point of being physically sick. Suffering for your craft is one of the true measures of an artist. And in that, it shows just how deeply Wanderlei Silva inspires myself in life and thousands of others across the globe. This project The God of War was very difficult for me to do and even more difficult to convince myself of doing. Considering that there are dozens upon dozens of Wand highlights already available on the net, I just didnt know how I was going to distinguish myself from the rest. Even my partner tried talking me out of it. Now in hindsight, Im glad that I didnt listen to him. I hope everyone enjoys experiencing this highlight film as much as I did putting it together. WordPress – The Ultimate Blog Platform?

We have, as you all might have seen, chosen WordPress as our blogging platform for our internet marketing business and that is for some very good reasons. Below is a (somewhat subjective) review and reasons behind our choice. Fist off some Advantages and Disadvantages.
Advantages
WordPress is FREE
WordPress has tons of plugins that will help you optimize your blog according to your needs and requirements
Wordpress is very easy to install and use
WordPress has thousands of followers and developers that continously imrpove and delvelop plugins, tools and software
Disadvantages
We have some difficulties using the editor, so we use a free html editor called NVU (Click HERE to check NVU) – make the post there and copy it into the WordPress “Add New Post” editor
A lot of spamboots and automatic comment poster “attack” WordPress blog posts
Except for that we haven’t found any weaknesses or disadvantages so far.
Plugins:
Plugins are small softwares that is developed by either WordPress OR webdesigners like you and me, in order to complete and optimize WordPress. There are literally thousands of plugins developed, soe not so good and some truly amazing. Below is a couple of examples of plugins just to give you an idea of what it really is:
Plugin 1: http://tweetmeme.com/about/retweet_buttonTweetMeme – this FREE plugin puts a small button on every blog post which enables your visitors to easily share YOUR blog post link to all their Twitter followers. HIGHLY reccomended (check it in the upper right hand corner of this post)
Plugin 2: MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate – this $97 plugin enables you to manage ALL your affiliate links, create your own link names etc etc.
We’ll cover some really good, both free and paid, plugins in later posts, but we just like to mention specifically that there are some excellent plugins for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) that will drive free traffic to your website/blog.
Software:
In the blogging world there are constant need for different softwares, and for WordPress (and other blog platforms) there are a lot of good ones developed. Again, just to give you an idea of what we’re talking about, here is an example:
Artisteer – this software enables you to MAKE your OWN WordPress themes (soon also Blogger/Blogspot) without knowing any html codes. You can set the width of your blog, colors, header, footer……you name it – you can do it with Artisteer. An excellent software if you’re setting up and managing many blogs.
We’ll of course cover Artisteer and other softwares more detailed in later posts.
Conclusion:
WordPress is in our eyes the ultimate blog platform for your internet marketing and business. It has ALL the features and tweks we’re looking for and it continues to develop and improve day by day. Before you chose your blogging platform, you definately have to evaluate WordPress and see if it’s suitable for you.

How to start with WordPress as a beginner

When I used to start with Wordpress, I haven’t known much about HTML & CSS. luckily wordpress offers a 5-minute installation. You can read the installation guide of WordPress on their website. On my blog I also have a Step-to-Step Tutorial which helps you to search for the right domain name and hoster and a incredible theme. Also, there is a section on how to create your own profitable blog.
Most of the webhoster uses Fantastico to support their clients. Fantastico and Fantastico Deluce (they are both the same) are scripts which can install some software automaticly with one click (One-Click-Install). This is more easy as the manual installation of WordPress, so please have a look at your webhoster cPanel if you can find the Fantastico button.
Choose the domain where you want to install wordpress. You can set the admin nickname and password and then fill in the site name. It’s good if the site name contains at least one keyword of your site. Enter a brief description of your site in the “Description” field.
When you installed WordPress you should log into your new blog: www.thisisyourdomain.com/wp-admin and then enter the username and password you chose before. It’s userfriendly and self explanatory.
There are thousands of plugins available, but you’ll only need a few at the beginnig. If you use much plugins, your site could load slowly. We’ll focus on a few plugins for now.
All in one SEO: All in One Seo helps you to optmize your blog for search engines like goodle. As a beginner, you should install this Plugin as the very first one. Google loves WordPress, but you have to optimize your Blog a little bit more to rank higher and increase your organic web traffic.This free traffic is the best you could have and it will never stop! Google XML Sitempas: Google XML Sitempas creates a sitempa for Google which helps your ranking again. Contact Form 7: Contact Form 7 is a great plugin! You can set up your own contact form so every visitor can send you a mail. I think every blog needs a contact form.
How to install the plugins? You can install these Plugins via FTP program or with WordPress directly. If you are logged into your account, search for the Plugin section and search the three plugins I told you before. Then you can install them automaticly. Often this feature doesn’t work with all hosting provider. If you logged into your FTP account, you should find a folder called “wp-content”. In it you can see the folder “plugins”, open it and insert the three plugins (unzipped of course).
Allright, now you need something that every blog should have. First, create an “About Me” or “About” page. Then of course the “Contact” Page with the Plugin Contact Form 7. To be fully legal, insert a Privacy Policy into your blog.
Now you should install Google Analytics to track your visitors. The installation of Google Analytics is described by google and shouldn’t be a huge problem.
Now something really important: Change the structure of the permalinks in the admin panel of WordPress to “Custom Structure” and then “/%postname%/“.
Now you’re read to start blogging your articles. Concentrate and focus on your subject and you’ll see results rolling in within a few weeks or months.

Everytime I create a new website for a small business owner I get the same question asked about 9 out of 10 times: â??Will I be able to update and add things to my site myself?â?
In other words, they are asking how easy will it be for them make changes to the website themselves.
