@WebTechGlobal That is very true. Students do do it recreationally and now that there’s Twitter and Facebook, there’s really no longer a need for most people to take all the trouble of blogging… it will really only be the place for passionate people who have things to share. And for those who cannot commit, there’s Tumblr and Posterous, two apps I should do video about.

Its amazing how many middle aged people have no clue about blogging. Even people who spend hours on Facebook dont have proper blogs. They spend all that time talking and sharing their lifes why not have a blog thats the way I look at it.

Mainly its students who seriously fail when it comes to blogging because so few do it or do it seriously. They don’t seem to realise what a blog could grow to if they are passionate about their subject and how it can help them communicate in their field.

thanks a lot for taking the time to make this video. But I do have to agree that it was too long, but I don’t have anything against you since you helped so many of us.

Great video, a little lengthy. On my channel I have most of this information or similar stuff in different shorter videos. check out my videos if you want to quickly get info on how to use Wordpress and customize your page to make blogging easier. Check out my videos like How to Add a New Theme to Wordpress, What is a Wordpress Plugin?, How To Create An Author Box In Wordpress and How to Install and Setup Featured Gallery Plugin Wordpress (HD).

i made it 18:50 in and lost my will to live, much less learn to work wordpress.

watch him drag and drop widgets for 5 minutes and forget to save them EVERYTIME. wtf

  16. absolutsista on May 18th, 2010 3:37 am

Thank you ,although much of what you showed here I basically figured out by trial & error using WordPress . I was hoping this tutorial would have gone into more specifics of why & how widgets can be used ; your section on domains would have been more helpful had you discussed the benefits or advantages of purchasing a domain name.

  17. Hye1Phy on May 18th, 2010 3:53 am

you waste too much time. you need to go faster and stick to the stuff most people can’t figure out on their own. this tutorial would be a lot better if you weren’t wasting so many people’s time.

Thank you so much, Chris. This really helped out a lot! We have to use Wordpress to create a ‘website’ for our Media coursework (our college is too cheap to get Dreamweaver) and as a complete novice, I didn’t know where to start. But this tutorial has helped fantastically, so thanks!

But man we gotta get you some background music or something?
No way, I hate that bum-bum kind music at background…
I loved the video and help-me a lot. thx

  20. jpizzy5474 on May 18th, 2010 4:37 am

Wow, I sat through this for the whole thing… was it worth it? yes.

But man we gotta get you some background music or something, I dozed off about 45min in. lol.

But good info and thanks for the help.

You can really tell which comments are from adults and which ones are from kids. This was a great tutorial. One of the best I’ve watched on any subject.

Thank you Chris, a million times! I could almost cry from relief. I was totally lost on WordPress but now am found. Blind, but now I see. I finally believe that I can get my blog started.

  23. spauldingchris on May 18th, 2010 6:25 am

Boring. Self indulgent. If you want to make an instructional video cut out all the bloated ‘me’ crap and get straight to it.

  24. hnabas on May 18th, 2010 7:05 am

    awesome Tutorial
Thank for the good work on your Tutorial very helpfull & I will Be Back!

  25. nerwin on May 18th, 2010 7:22 am

This was incredibly boring! I almost fell asleep while watching this, probably cause your voice is Mono, other than that it was a great video for people who don’t know how to set up a wordpress blog. But I thought this video was going to be on how to blog, like writing and stuff like that.

Got something to say?
